Biblical Soul Care
What is Biblical Soul Care?
Biblical Soul Care can take many forms and is not just for pastors or biblical counselors but it is the privilege and responsibility of every believer. It is more than a counseling method. It is a cultural philosophy potentially affecting every part of a healthy, growing church.
Biblical Soul Care is not a new method or idea but is something that was commanded and practiced since the early church. We have a great model in Acts 2 and in the Puritan community. Today you might know it as biblical counseling, intentional discipleship, or mentoring. We would define it as speaking the truth in love anchored in the Word of God, depending on the Spirit of God, and practiced in a community of believers.
Biblical Soul Care is Christ centered, biblically-based with truth and grace, Spirit-led, prayer saturated and community oriented care.
